A very warm welcome to our wonderful Cerro Brae, a rural cottage (otherwise known as a finca) here in Andalusia, Southern Spain.
‘Cerro Brae’, the main house, is set as its name suggests, on the brow of a hill, within an acre of private land with two other (owner only) cottages. The large swimming pool is a favorite spot but you may find one of the many terraces a place for quiet contemplation or reading. This could be your rural retreat or centre for adventure!
Within a five minutes drive is the small hamlet of Pastelero which offers two eateries and a bakery. The latter also sells basic shopping items.
Villanueva De La Concepcion with its backdrop of the magnificent El Torcal range is only 15 minutes away with everything you need including a wide range of eateries. Go more than once as many shops are tucked away and look like homes but often turn out to be fresh food sellers when open. Generally opening hours are 8am – 2pm and 5pm – 8pm. certainly for Dia the local supermarket. Aim for the morning to see the smaller shops. The post office is only open from 7.30am to 10am weekdays but you can find stamps and mobile phone top ups at many little shops.
Take a look at the ‘location map’ and must ‘sees’ from the menu to see just a small example of where you can explore from here. The old town in Malaga is certainly worth a visit.
However long your stay, we wish you a relaxing and uplifting experience.
We hope you love it as much as we do.
